**We would like to invite you to the 22nd Webinar organized by the Early Career Investigators Network under the TRANSLACORE project, scheduled for Wednesday, 30 September 2026, at 3:00 PM CET (online). The meeting will include the following:**

-  Short introduction by **Nikolaos Balatsos**, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of Thessaly, Larissa, Greece.
-  **Alberto Canfran-Duque**, NYU Grossman School of Medicine : "Lipid Stress Rewires Translation Initiation to Promote Macrophage Adaptation"

Alberto received his PhD from the University of Alcalá in Madrid, Spain, where he described the molecular effects of antipsychotic drugs on lipid metabolism that lead to hypertriglyceridemia in patients. He then moved to the United States for a postdoctoral fellowship at Yale University, where he focused on understanding the crosstalk between lipid metabolism and inflammation. Alberto is currently a Research Instructor at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where he studies the role of mRNA translation in cell plasticity and adaptation.
