**Intro to the topic:**

 Τhe webinar will focus on Ribosome Biogenesis and Regulation. Ribosome biogenesis is a central pathway for most cellular activities involving multiple steps processes that include the concomitant processing of the precursors of ribosomal RNAs and the assembly of ribosomal proteins (r-proteins). In the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, this process comprises about 300 trans-acting factors and the 79 r-proteins. This study uncovers the role of the yeast ribosomal protein eL22 in ribosome biogenesis, showing that its absence impairs growth, 60S subunit production, and pre-rRNA processing. The findings reveal that eL22 is essential for proper interaction and function of late-acting ribosome assembly factors.
