**TRANSLACORE** organized a co-located meeting alongside the **13th edition EMBO workshop “Ribosome Synthesis: from Mechanisms to Therapy**”, held Sunday 7 – Friday 12 September 2025 at Churchill College, Cambridge (UK). The International Conference on Ribosome Synthesis convened ~200 biomedical researchers to exchange the latest advances in how ribosomes, the cell’s protein factories, are assembled, monitored, and remodeled. A central focus was the emerging translational potential of targeting ribosome biogenesis, with discussions spanning mechanistic insight and therapeutic strategy development for ribosomopathies (including bone marrow failure syndromes linked to mutations in biogenesis factors) and multiple cancer contexts.

The meeting brought together trainees, molecular and structural biologists, clinicians, and industry representatives, creating a lively cross-disciplinary environment. In addition to showcasing new experimental and computational approaches, the program fostered practical networking and seed collaborations across eukaryotic and bacterial ribosome research, including efforts to exploit bacterial ribosome formation as an antibiotic vulnerability. Overall, the conference strengthened training opportunities and accelerated idea flow from fundamental ribosome biology toward translational and therapeutic innovation.
