
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented computational postdoctoral researcher to join our team, the **Laboratory of RNA Regulatory Networks** (PI: _Prof. Erik Dassi_, https://www.cibio.unitn.it/1096/rna-regulatory-networks) at the **Department CIBIO, University of Trento, Italy**.

The researcher will work in the context of a 2-year PRIN project recently funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, and also involving the laboratories of _Prof. Lorenzo Montanaro_ (University of Bologna) and _Prof. Alberto Inga_ (Department CIBIO, University of Trento). The project will focus on snoRTs non-coding RNA molecules (doi: 10.1186/s13059-022-02746-3), with the aim of xunderstanding their biogenesis, regulatory role, and involvement with breast cancer. Transcriptomics, translatomics and RNA interactome datasets will be produced and analyzed within the project.

The successful candidate will have a background in bioinformatics/computational biology, knowledge of RNA biology, and proven experience in omics data analysis. Experience with machine learning and software development would be a plus. The researcher will also have the opportunity to undertake additional projects related to the research interests of the laboratory.

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field and a publication record demonstrating the required skills. Proficiency with programming languages (R, Python), and knowledge of Unix systems is required. The candidate will work in an international environment, so a good ability to communicate and write in English is also expected.

Researcher’s activities:

- Perform processing and statistical analysis of transcriptomics, translatomics (e.g. Pol-seq, Ribo-seq), protein-RNA interaction (e.g. eCLIP), and epitranscriptomics datasets (e.g. miCLIP, MeRIP)
- Perform prediction of regulatory elements (e.g. m6A sites) with state of the art tools
- Construct post-transcriptional regulatory networks by database mining and integration with the analyzed omics datasets
- Stay up to date with the relevant RNA biology and cancer literature and the latest development in bioinformatics tools and algorithms
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences to present the results of their research and interact with colleagues
- Contribute to the preparation of papers related to the results of the project
