The ambition of **TRANSLACORE** is map and foster the European research expertise on RNA biology and protein synthesis in order to accelerate the robust transfer of academic findings into medical applications dedicated to improve the health and quality of life of people afflicted by cancer. 

**TRANSLACORE** is a network of researchers working on various aspects of protein synthesis across Europe, aiming to advance the emerging field of translational control in cancer. It is continuously growing and optimizing to reach a large, but unified European network gathering, consisting of researchers, clinicians and teachers from universities, hospital, research institutes, public institutions, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, along with representatives from patient advocacy groups and policy makers from governmental institutions.

The **TRANSLACORE** network aims to develop a holistic and inclusive strategy. Based on inclusiveness - gender balance, interdisciplinarity, and inclusion of young scientists - it gathers the strengths of experts from countries all over Europe to fight cancer. A key action of **TRANSLACORE** is to promote the full involvement of Early Career Investigators in all aspects of the Action, including leadership positions. Several action plans are also designed to attract and train early-stage scientists and students to the latest techniques and concepts emerging in the field of protein synthesis control.

**TRANSLACORE’s** added value promote an integrated view of cancer and of its management. Through research, we will gain new biological insights into regulation of protein synthesis in cancer that can be  developed into novel therapeutics to benefit patients. Many activities of **TRANSLACORE** are implemented – network meetings, Short-Term Scientific Missions, training schools, PhD internships, webinars, lectures - to disseminate knowledge and develop research capacity among students and stakeholders inside and outside the core network such as policymakers, key opinion leaders, heads of research institutions, patient organizations.

We expect that this inclusive holistic approach will create unexpected synergistic cross-disciplinary partnerships, resource-pooling and knowledge sharing. **TRANSLACORE** aims to tackle this major challenge in cancer biology that holds promise for patient-focused, clinical applications: a better understanding of the  contribution of translational control in cancer onset and progression.
